Loan Program

Thanks to a generous grant from the Citizens Committee of New York City (CCNYC), the Kew Gardens CSA and the Briarwood CSA have a Revolving Loan program intended to help people join who might otherwise not be able to.
We have about 5 slots available for members who want farm fesh veggies and other items.

We will put down the initial payment for the season. Members will agree to pay biweekly, with all monies due in November.
The intention of this grant is to expand and diversify CSA membership.

Members, please get friends to join.

If interested, contact us, please.

Webstore

One of the benefits of CSA membership is that we can shop at the Garden of Eve webstore to supplement our weekly share. Pick from a  variety of items and they will be delivered.

The deadline is always Tuesday at midnight. That is today, folks.

What We Got....July 14, 2019

Briarwood CSA members picked up an amazing bounty from Garden of Eve Organic Farm yesterday. In the Veggie share: cucumbers, lettuce, zucchini, bok choi, leeks, Red Russian Kale, potatoes, basil, sweet corn.
Fruit: blueberries and cherries; Eggs; Cheese: 3 pieces hard and soft; Bread.
NOTE: Missing sunflowers to be made up next pickup.

We had a great time getting to know everyone. So much good will; so many good ideas. We reported back to the farm and told them there are smiles in Briarwood.

Next Pick up is July 14 10AM to 11:30

Briarwood CSA members---we pick up our shares tomorrow July 14 at the site by the subway, adjacent to the Briarwood library from 10AM to 11:30 (or whenever the last bag is picked up).

Let's collect fees if possible and let's talk work shift -- we will have a simple signup sheet.

The KGCSA weekly newsletter should have hit your inboxes on Friday. It has a listing of the shares for this week as well as info on HOLDS and a link to the wonderful Just Food Veggies Tip Sheets. That spiffy newsletter is edited by Lauren. We in Briarwood will get it every other week.

We hope we are clear and that you understand about several different things that are new and are intended to be member-friendly: Customizing (Briarwood members CAN do that, Kew Gardens members cannot); shopping at the webstore for additional items;  and how to place a hold.

We look forward to seeing everyone tomorrow.
