NEWS: FOOD SCRAP DROP-OFF SITE IN BRIARWOOD STARTS SUNDAY, JUNE 13!
The food scrap drop-off site was one Briarwood's most popular events. People loved walking to the subway on Tuesday mornings and dropping off bags of food scraps in the bins provided by Queens Botanical Gardens. Unfortunately, the program was discontinued by the city under the COVID crisis.
It is now back! Starting June 13---and now on SUNDAY MORNINGS--Briarwood neighbors can once again drop off their weekly accumulated food scraps by the subway station/library. The Briarwood CSA is hosting the site; DSNY is providing services and materials; and all is coordinated by Queens Botanical Garden. So....we hope to see you on Sunday, June 13 and every Sunday after that, by the subway and the library, off the corner of Queens Blvd. and Main St. Next to the Briarwood CSA pickup site!
